  3. Symptoms of motion sickness, seasickness or altitude sickness: Feeling Giddy and Faint

  4. This is the main symptom of motion sickness and is caused by conflicting messages in the nausea center in the brain. Many who suffer from motion sickness get the first three or four of the symptoms listed here and it makes their trip miserable but not as bad as those who start to vomit.

  5. Signs and Symptoms of motion sickness, sea sickness or altitude sickness; dizziness, paleness, cold sweating, excess saliva production, nausea, vomiting, fatigue or headache.

  7. To prevent motion sickness or sea sickness or altitude sickness: Do not read while traveling if you are subject to motion sickness, and do not sit in a seat facing backward.

  8. As you may have observed some families suffer from motion sickness more than others, there is also a racial difference which was shown in a medical trial. The Asian-American children suffered the most motion sickness, 100% of them and it was so bad for some of them they asked to leave the trial early.

  9. If you do get sick, don't despair. Motion sickness generally clears up soon after you stop traveling, and has no long-term complications. Report any unusual side effects from motion-sickness medications to your health care provider.

  10. The standard advice for seasickness is to get up on deck where visual input agrees with vestibular input. Likewise, studies have shown that a child is far less likely to experience car sickness when in an elevated child seat that provides a good outside view.
